I consider myself a meteorologist. I received my formal training at Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois, where I studied thermodynamics, dynamics, synoptic, etc. Although these classes don't compare with a traditional meteorology curriculum, they prepared me very well as an operational meteorologist.

In addition to my military training and experience, I have taken the required 24 semester hours needed to meet NWS standards for a meteorologist position.

I don't presume to know everything about meteorology, and I have never met anyone who does. I continue to study the subject and to learn.
