"Don Paul, do you really honestly believe that Dr. Binkley would be embarrassed by this?! NO WAY! Binkley is interested in making money for Mississippi State University, and by doing so, securing a nice job for himself. There's nothing wrong with that - this IS America. If he were truly interested in producing quality graduates for t.v. he would develop a full-fledged four year atmospheric sciences program with a strong weathercasting curriculum ( like Lyndon State has)!"
Actually, MSU DOES have a 4 year degree program on campus...I am a graduate of it. The reason the MSU off-campus program was developed is simple, there were and are many weathercasters who simply can't quit their jobs, pack up the kids and wife, and live off of student loans for 4 years to get their BS. Therefore the BMP was developed. And, the program, like any program, is a good one, if you apply yourself! I know a lot of off-camupus graduates who are quite good, and much more knowledgable than the grads of the "big three". This is not to say that there is anything wrong with other institiutions, it's just the program will teach you if you put hard work into it.
Oh, and by the way, I saw a OU grad do a storm track on AP one time...ignorance certainly isn't limited to MSU grads!
